I have a project to one of me client's sandboxes.  Everything was working fine until this week.  Now whenever I do an operation that requires access to the server I get 2 'Failed Login to the Server'  messages.

I checked my project properties and made sure my username, password and security key are correct, but I still cannot log in.

      Hi Joe,

Thank you for your contacting us with this information.

May I please clarify with you if your credentials are not expired? You can check this on your Organization on Salesforce.

I kindly ask you to reproduce your issue (please pull or build your project) and then send us a bug report directly from the IDE. You can find this option in the Main Menu -> Help -> Report a Bug. This way we will get your Activity Log file that can help us in the investigation process related to your issue. You can enter the link to this post as a description of your issue and please specify you email for our feedback.

      Thank you,

      Kate

Hi, I got exact same problem as @joe.briatico. Already submitted a bug with IDE.

Workaround that I found is to go to your workspace with project and inside R8_SearchBeforeCreate.sfproj remove Password and SecurityToken. After IDE restart it asked me again for credentials and it worked fine.

          Hi Tadeusz,

Thank you for your post and for your bug report - we got it.

I see that currently you are using The Welkin Suite Bloom R2. This version had several issues related to the auto-updating functionality.

I kindly ask you to download and install the latest version of the IDE.

After this, please check if the issue related to the failed login would be reproduced. If yes, please send a bug report to us again.

          Thank you,

          Kate

Thanks Kate! I thought that IDE has something like auto-update feature :)

              Hi Tadeusz.

The IDE has this functionality but exactly the Bloom R2 version had some issue related to updating. We solved them and now you can even use manual check for updates in the Help menu.

Please let me know if the issue would be reproduced on The Welkin Suite Bloom R11.

              Thank you,

              Kate

                   Hi,

first try to check if your credentials are ok.

                  If it's not working:

Workaround that I found is to go to your workspace with project and inside ProjectName.sfproj remove Password and SecurityToken. After IDE restart it asked me again for credentials and it worked fine. If it's not asking just go to Project properties and try to fill them again.

                  Good luck!

                      Hi guys,

                      Thank you for your posts.

Jrhoades, I'm glad that the workaround helped you and now you can work on your TWS project.

I kindly ask you to send us a bug report with the attached log files using the menu Help -> Report a Bug again, especially if the issue would be reproduced, since we didn't receive your bug report or couldn't detect it. This would be great if our developers could analyze your log files to investigate the issue and solve a reason for this.

Tadeusz, thank you for your help. Can you please tell me if the issue is reproduced for you on the updated version of the IDE? If yes, please send us a bug report with the attached log files also.

                      Thank you,

                      Kate

After my workaround and updating TWS it's working perfectly fine :) If same issue will come to me I'll send bug report with file :)

Hi I'm also experiencing the same issue, on both Bloom R12 and Blaze R8:

                            • for some reason, I change my passord on the developer sandbox
                            • I open the project on TWS and pull from SF
                            • TWS says Failed to Login (correct)
                            • I change project login info on properties, then try again: Failed to Login (issue)
                            • Now my dev org is locked due to too many login attemps, but I'm 100% sure I did it only once

                            Thank you for advising,

                            Francesco

                              Hi Francesco,

                              Thank you for your post.

Your organization, in this case, gets locked due to the fact that the IDE makes a bunch of API calls using the old credentials after opening the project. We are aware of this situation and we have included this bug as one of the top issues to resolve. We won’t resolve it within the next week or two, but a bit later it should happen.

In the meantime, there’s a dirty workaround to avoid locking out your orgs – before opening the project with changed credentials in the IDE you can open your sfproj file in any text editor and change the username somehow – for example just add the ‘1’ symbol at the end. This way the IDE won’t lock your user and you’ll be able to safely open the project in TWS and change password, token and get rid of that ‘1’ in the username.

                              Best Regards,

                              Kate
