    Hi,

Each time I build since the latest update, I get the "This file has been modified outside of the source editor. Do you want to reload it?" popup for all of my changed files. When I click yes, nothing seems to change on the file. This is a project that was created before the last update, but I tried creating a new project and it happens with that one as well.

    Thanks,

    Mark

      Hi Mark,

This is because file body is downloaded from SF after the build - SF does some modifications like removing whitespaces, re-ordering metadata files and so on. We'd like to keep everything consistent with what is on SF and what is stored locally.

Can you please check in editor like Notepad++ with enabled display of special characters what are the line endings and what happens around the end of the file in following scenario (before steps 1, 5 and after step 5):

      1. build the file
      2. reload it when prompted
      3. save it
      4. do a minor change (add a comment?)
      5. build it again

Please let me know what is the result of this.

We are thinking at the moment to modify this logic by next Wednesday or make this functionality optional and disabled by default (if we won't be able to modify it to be ideal).

      Please sorry for this inconvenience.

      Thanks,

      Vladimir

        Hi Vladimir,

I just tested it by saving a file, looking at it in Notepad++ and then building and looking at it again. When I save within TWS, the file has a linefeed character after the last curly brace on the last line of the file. When I build it, it removes that Line Feed.

        Thanks,

        Mark

          Hi Mark,

Are you using Code Format before building/after reloading with the version from SF?

          Thanks,

          Vladimir

            Hi Vladimir,

I hadn't been using Code Format. I just tried it with Code Formatting between, and it didn't change the result.

            Thanks,

            Mark

Well, I and all my colleagues using WS are experiencing the same problem. After every build (F5) the message pops up. We have tried everything to get rid of it, but no success. We assume it's a bug we hope you will fix for the next release. Until then we should have to live with it. Unless you have a better solution.

                Hi Guys,

I'm happy to say that we've resolved the issue and have released the new version just a minute ago.

Please try the new version and let me know if everything is ok for you.

                Thanks,

                Vladimir

                  Hi Vladimir,

It's still happening for me. Running the same test as before, the trailing LF isn't showing up after save or after build (which is good), but I am still getting the "file has been modified" error. I don't see any changes in the file in Notepadd++ with Show All Characters enabled.

                  Thanks,

                  Mark

                    Hi Mark,

Is this happening all the time for the same file (e.g. you'll build it 10 times in a row and each time you'll be advices to reload it)? Or is it only for the first time for each file?

                    Thanks,

                    Vladimir

                      Hi Vladimir,

It'll happen multiple times with the same file.

                      Thanks,

                      Mark

                          Hi Mark,

Can I please ask you to select some file that doesn't contain any sensitive information / significant parts of the code and send me this file right before the build and after the build on email vladimir.gubanovich@welkinsuite.com?

                          Thanks,

                          Vladimir

                            Hi Vladimir,

I went to get the files for you, but it isn't happening anymore. I guess I just need to close out of the new version and re-open and that solved it. Feel free to mark this as Fixed - I'll let you know if it happens again.

                            Thanks,

                            Mark
