I only see this issue on my work laptop, a Lenovo W541. Both 0.30.17.4 and R1.

When I open a log file, TWS almost always freezes up. I've seen it not do this a few times but those are the exception, not the rule - it freezes far more often than not. I have seen this on logs that are only 2-3kb so I do not think it is related to size.

The area from and including the horizontal scroll bar on the top half of the window (the sorta tree view of execution) down to but not including the horizontall scroll bar on the bottom half of the window (raw line number view) seems to be jumping up and down by 2-3 pixles over and over. Usually the bottom half shows the line numbers but nothing else - sometimes it shows a few lines of log text.

I thought the problem might only happen when the TWS window was maximized but now it seems to happen even if the window is normalized and small. Logging settings don't seem to have any effect. This happens with both hardware and software rendering. When it happens, my CPU goes to 20% and stays there.

When this happens, all I can do is shoot the task. If I tried to open a log on the previous run, trying to run TWS again on R1 hangs on the "Loading license information" popup - the spinny busy icon works and the close 'X' works but that just exits TWS, which is not helpful.

Any other info I can provide?

        Thanks, Kate.

I think I've figured out how to reproduce this issue.

It looks like if I have the text size at 100% or 125% (Windows 10: right-click on desktop -> Personalize) then TWS is happy. If I set it over 125%, the problem occurs. I've changed back & forth a few times and it consistantly behaves this way. I did notice that when I changed the setting, everything appears to change on the screen but TWS does not have issues unless you reboot with it set over 125%.

        Hope that helps.
