Local History Compare not working for Page files

All the devs using Welkin at our company have installed the newest version, but half of us (including myself) are not able to use Local History "Compare" option to do diffs for page files. Diffs for classes work perfectly, but the "Compare" button is dead when viewing the Local History for a page file.

Any help on this would be much appreciated. It makes version control much less painstaking.

      Hi Brent.

Thank you for your bug report.

Our team cannot reproduce this issue, so I kindly ask you to tell us which operations were made for your pages before. The list of these operations you can find in the Local History panel - these are the names of your commits.

We will appreciate this additional information. It will help us in our investigation process.

      Thank you,

      Kate

Ok in trying to get this to work I uninstalled everything and reinstalled.  When I tried to do the compare on a .page file I got the following errors (copied from the attached [attachment=59:ActivityLog.xml]log file). I hope this helps.  I can do a compare other files (.cls files and triggers.) but fails on the page files.

        Thanks.

        Kelly

          Hi,

Thank you for the details provided.

          This really helped us.

First off, we kindly suggest you launch The Welkin Suite using the ‘Run as administrator’ option. We can see from your log file that the IDE you use locally is started by the user from the User Privileges group. This can be the reason for the incorrect loading of the Visual Web Developer Project System Package that initials the displaying diffs in the Local History.

Next, if the aforesaid actions do not help, is to reinstall Visual Studio Isolated Shell. The important thing here is to use the Administrator’s privileges during this process.

Please let us known if this solves the issue for you.

          Thank you,

          Kate

Thanks for the response.  starting as admin did not help.  Also, when I did the last reinstall I did uninstall  the   Visual Studio Isolated Shell and let Welkin Suite install it and still getting the errors.  Attached is the latest log.

            Thanks,

            Kelly

Running as administrator did not fix the issue in my instance either. I submitted a bug report 5 minutes ago with the Activity Monitor Log from right after attempting a page Diff/Compare.

              Thanks again,

              Brent
