    Hi

    I'm a dev for pretty huge project.

    I'm a little fed up with SublimeText + MM, so I took into consideration your promising IDE.

    But at the very beginning of testing, I ran into pretty crippling problem - the only resources that WS IDE downloads are triggers and components. No classes, no pages, no objects.

     

    Any comments on this?

     

    I have also sent a bug report from the IDE (email w...a@live.com).

      Hi,


      We have investigated the problem and are currently working on fixing it - it should be fixed in next release (next week or so) or in upcoming bugfix patch. Once fixed it will be automatically updated on your PC.


      As a workaround at the moment - have you tried creating new project once more?

        After recreating project, classes were added, but no pages and no objects.

          Hi,


          Unfortunately this issue occasionally occurs on large projects.

          The reason is that resources are downloaded in different threads (based on type) simultaneously, additionally SFDC is returning data for large projects very slowly and there's a timeout on our side that is not handled properly - this why some types of resources may be downloaded correctly and some may be missing.


          We are already working on fixing this issue - we will release an update next week (March 12th/13th) with this issue addressed and The Welkin Suite will automatically update to the latest versions.


          Please sorry for inconvenience caused and thank you for reporting the issue.

            Hi,


            We have fixed the issue you've reported and released updated version 0.13.4.4 with this bugfix included. It will be automatically updated on your PC within a day.

            This version will as well appear in "Downloads" section later today.

              Unfortunately - still no-go (v 0.13.5.4).

              After creating new project, it did not pull visualforce pages.

                Hm, looks like something strange. How long your project was downloading?

                Maybe there's also something specific with your project (limited permissions for your user or something else)?

                  Download took circa 10 minutes.

                  Code analysis took circa 5-6 minutes.

                  Second try - no objects, to pages, no static resorucs. Only classes, components and triggers.

                  Download is done over corporate VPN to another country and network monitor shows net usage from 1 to 5Mbps, so maybe low throughput is a factor. I will try later on to download without VPN.

                  As for access rights, it all works ok in Sublime Text + MavensMate, so permissions are ok.

                    Just tried without VPN, on 50Mbps+ line.

                    Everythhing but Objects was downloaded. Seems like it's not a permissions issue, since the behavior is quite erratic.

                    I'm leaned more towards some timeout issue.

                    It's also weird that alwasy whole category is omitted, like all Objects, not parts (as far as I notices, because there are hundreds of items).

                      Hi,


                      Yup, there's definitely an issue with large projects. Can you please describe in 2 words how many objects are there in your org and how complex they are (I assume that you have really a lot of objects there)?

                      And also - is your org heavily loaded/slow or is it pretty clear and fast?


                      Our current assumption that problem is in the fact that Salesforce sometimes prepares data very slowly, and on slow orgs with huge amounts of objects it takes to long, so our timeout is exceeded (this applies to other types of metadata as well, but classes, pages and objects are most vulnerable).

                        It's dev envoronment (test), so it's sluggish.

                        Here are some statistics for this env:

                        - over 1300 custom objects

                        - data storage circa 550GB

                        - 460 triggers

                        - 4200 classes

                        - over 1500 pages

                        - circa 3500 test users

                          Hi,


                          That's really a huge project. Unfortunately even if everything will be downloaded correctly TWS is not ideally suited for projects of such size at the moment. We are going to address performance issue and optimize The Welkin Suite for projects of such size right after next release (this week) and we'll be grateful if you'll be able to participate in some kind of closed testing, as we won't be able to simulate projects of such size.


                          If you'd like to participate - please let me know and I'll contact you via emails within next weeks with test builds which can help resolving this issue and other performance issues.
