TWS keeps saying Pending server changes

After evey build TWS reports that there are pending server changes and that I need to pull from Salesforce. Most of the time this is related to the same file, even if I did not modify it. And most of the time pulling this very file from Salesforce will not change anything, resulting in a dead loop situation. I tried to pull all files from Salesforce. I tried to delete the entire project and refetch from Salesforce anew. Nothing worked.

Also sometimes the build is reported to fail for no reason, although the files are correctly pushed to Salesforce. In that case the next build attempt will request pulling from Salesforce as described above, even if no change has been made in between.

I know similar topics are opened in this forum but this is really getting annoying to the point I have to stop using TWS. And I'm sorry to say so because I love TWS on the other hand.

      Hi Pierre,

      Thank you for your post.

This issue is caused by the changes of file formatting from the Salesforce side after the Build process. These are the pending changes.

Our team is looking for the best way to avoid this behaviour.

We will try to include this issue to our next sprint.

I'll keep you updated when we will release the fix for this.

      Best regards,

      Kate

I'm getting a quite similar problem too. I'm pulling from class from the server, it says that it is successful, but when i checked on the server, it is not the same version. I tried 4 times, but didn't work. I close welkin suite and open it again, it says the same thing, it do not want to update my files :(

          Hi Vanessen,

          Thank you for your post.

May I clarify with you if TWS doesn't update your project files to the server version after the Pull process?

If yes, this is a little bit another issue.

I kindly ask you to tell me if the necessary files are present in the list 'Select files to pull from Salesforce:' when you launch the Pull process? Are they marked as selected in this list?

In addition, please tell me what type of files are not updated in your case?

          Thank you,

          Kate

I have similar issues and they are becoming a show stopper for us with TWS. I can never be sure that TWS actually pulls the latest version from Salesforce. To demonstrate this I manually deleted all components from within the components folder from Windows explorer. I then went back into TWS, right-clicked on the components folder and selected 'Pull From Salesforce'. Soon TWS happily reported that it had pulled all components from Salesforce but when I click on one it says 'file not found' because it is not actually there.

TWS MUST HAVE a means to force overwrite of local files AND force overwrite of server files. I appreciate the improved speed of comparing hashes and only updating changes but things change OUTSIDE of TWS and there needs to be a way of re-syncing server to local files and local to server when necessary.

I've been trying to compensate for this by running Sublime Text and Maven's Mate in parallel with TWS but I find myself just skipping TWS more and more because of all the trouble.

I've been a fan of TWS and tried about everything to make it work but I'm close to giving up. New features are nice but please focus on making the core product usable before introducing fancy new features.

              Hi Nebocreek,

              Thank you for your post.

The Welkin Suite doesn't handle changes in your File System. This is why current behaviour is expected.

Files which were edited outside the IDE can be built in TWS and that changes will be present on your server. The deleting of files isn't covered.

You can delete the necessary files in your project inside the IDE. In this case, these files will be deleted on you Org also.

If you need to get a project without some files after it was created but leave these files on the server, you can disable appropriate files in the 'Project Metadata Components' (Main Menu -> Project -> Project Metadata Components).

Please let us know, if these actions solve your issue.

              Thank you,

              Kate

I am having this problem as well, it has created some roadblocks in some high-priority, high-pressure changes. I simply can't update my class; I have to fall back on Developer Console.

                  • What types of files are you building when you get such error?
                  • Please reproduce the issue and send us a bug report directly from the application's Help menu, so we'll be able to analyze the log files and get back to you with a solution as soon as possible.

                  Thank you for your understanding.
