I find myself doing lots of debug on ananymous code lately. This is a great way to do some quick prototyping in TWS and I very much like this feature.
It would be great if TWS put system.debug output into the Output/Debug window as the debugger moves through the log file. I'm not sure how easy this is for you guys to do but adding things like dml and method entry/exit (basically things you color code in the log viewer) might be nice too.

      Hi Dave,

Thank you for bringin this request to us.

We have similar thing in plans - to have a "log" panel in the debug mode which will show log entries step-by-step during the debug process. Additionally we might also add an option to specify which exactly log messages you'd like to see in that panel. This improvement is not yet scheduled, however it will be for sure done as a part of other debugging improvements.

Additionally in one of the next Mac version releases we will add an "Immediate Anonymous Apex" panel which will allow you to quickly enter any anonymous apex and execute it without creating a separate file in the project. A bit later this feature will be migrated to the Windows version as well.

We will let you once once we'll know a scheduled for the "log" panel in the debug mode.

      Thank you,

      Vladimir

        Hi Dave,

I want to inform you that now you can track your debugging process in The Welkin Suite for Windows according to the entries from the appropriate Salesforce log file. All the necessary information is described in TWS documentation.

We implemented this in Spire R11 that was released yesterday.

As for the 'Immediate Anonymous Apex' option, that was mentioned by Vova, this is already implemented in The welkin Suite for Mac, and soon we will add this functionality to the Windows version of the IDE.

If you have any questions, please contact us. We will be glad to answer them.

        Best Regards,

        Kate
