I'm not sure if i fully understand what you mean, but general idea sounds really interesting.

In my understanding this is something like:

• In context menu for page add item that will open this page itself in Salesforce (page's preview, not code. or should it be code?)
• For all other types - add to the context menu item that will open "configuration" page for this item in Salesforce itself

Additionally hotkey will make sense as I think.

Is my understanding correct or close to yours?
