    Hi,

at the begining I'm sorry if I duplicated this feature or this feature is already in place (and I can't find it) but this might help for huge sfdc project.

While creating new project I need to wait around 10 minutes to download all the metadata. It's because I have a lot of Reports and Dashboard (I also have a lot of ApexClasses, Custom Objects but these are loading quick).

Maybe there can be option to stop downloading metadata and select ones that already are in the list and don't wait for Reports and Dashboard. I need to wait 10 minutes to download 1 Apex Page and VF Page :)

    Regards,

    Tadek

      Hi Tadeusz,

      Thank you for your post.

Right now you can disable Reports and Dashboards in the list of metadata types during a project creation and they won't be downloaded to your TWS project. You can add them later to already existing project by enabling the necessary metadata types in the Project Metadata Components wizard and further pulling from Salesforce.

Also, if you already have Report and Dashboards in your existing project, you can disable them in the Project Metadata Components wizard so that IDE doesn't check them for updates and enable them when this is necessary.

May I please clarify with you if you want to have an ability to abort a loading of files after the IDE has started to download them and change the list of file for your TWS project?

      Thank you,

      Kate

        Hi Kate,

thanks for answer but the problem is not with downloading reports or dashboards itself.

Problem is time when I'm waiting for metadata info to download and I can't click "Next" button even I need only one class. Only dashboard / report metadata info is downloading so slow. If you could give ability to click next (and not to wait for whole metadata to download) that would be great!

I'll attach screenshot on what screen I'm stuck for a long time :)

        Regards,

        Tadeusz

          Hi Tadeusz,

Thank you for your response and clarifying the issue.

We are aware of this case when there are a lot off Report and Dashboards on an organization and that this could cause a long loading of metadata files during a project creation.

Right now, we are considering a new approach for the metadata support and some of the cases in question could help to handle this issue. However, since we should investigate all the details, This is why I cannot tell you when exactly and if we will implement it.

Anyway, we will work on the issue that you are faced with and I will keep you updated when new abilities to save your time will be available in the IDE.

          Kindest Regards,

          Kate
