I think the following would greatly improve the experience:

    1. Specify how many rows have returned.  Currently there is no way to know.
    2. Allow select & copy to clipboard of the cell, row and entire result set
    3. Allow export of the resultset to CSV at least.
    4. F5 is mapped to Build Selection.  I am not sure what there is to build.  It should be mapped to Execute SOQL when I am in that particular window.
    5. I'd love some intellisense when composing SOQL.
    6. When I click on a column to sort, the name of the column goes away.  There is no way to tell how the column is sorted?  Asc, Desc or in the order it came from SFDC.
    7. The grippy window between the SOQL text and results is so thin it takes a good while to grab it - so that I can resize them.
    8. When I fire off a query with a joined table (e.g. select id, name, Market__r.Name from accountMarket__c), I don't want the XML of the Market__c object. I want Market__r.Name.

      Hi,

It’s pleasure that you paid attention to such things, it helps us to understand the user’s experience better.

We have the plans to improve the SOQL editor. The work on it will be started soon, and your suggestion will be included with the highest priority. They are really useful.

The implementation of the intellisense to the SOQl editor is the next part of the work on this, and it will be developed a little bit later after the previous improvements.

I want to say the few words about the F5 hotkey. This is Global function and we cannot change the option for it. No other action cannot be mapped to it.

      We appreciate your suggestion.

      Thank you,

      Kate

        Greetings,

I want to inform you that our developers worked on TWS SOQL Executor and you can see the results of their work in the latest versions The Welkin Suite: in the Windows version of the IDE this is available beginning from Spire R8 and in TWS for Mac this was implemented in Beta 4.

Now you can see the count of rows in results, copy results or export them. In addition, you have an ability to use the convenient SOQL  query builder.

You can find the additional information about the done changes in TWS Documentation: SOQL Executor in TWS for Windows and SOQL Executor in TWS for Mac.

We will work on improving this functionality and adding new abilities.

        Regards,

        Kate

Recent implementation of most of the features in rgelb's post is greatly appreciated.

Still hoping for the Intellisense, soon.

          Thanks!

            Hi Keith,

Thank you for your feedback greatly.

The Code Completion for SOQL queries is present in our working plans, and we will implement this in future versions of The Welkin Suite.

I will update this topic when this will be available for you.

            Kindest Regards,

            Kate
