    Welkin Suite is way better in many ways to other IDE's such as Mavensmate and Eclipse. I was never a fan of Eclipse. I loved Mavensmate for many reasons and one being the ability to select multiple lines and type on them all at one time. Copy several lines and paste them all at one time. This is all native to Sublime Text. Having this feature apart of Welkin Suite will allow many developers an added feature.

      Hi.

      Thank you for your feedback about The Welkin Suite and for your suggestion also.

      Currently TWS doesn’t support this functionality and it is absent in our plans for the nearest future.

      Further, of course, we will investigate the ability to implement this feature to The Welkin Suite.

      I’ll keep you updated about the resolution process for this functionality.

      Regards,

      Kate

        Hi,

        Just wondering if multi-cursor editing is supported in TWS now? I've looked and can't seem to find it. This is fantastic feature of Submile and also Visual Studio Code (https://kencenerelli.wordpress.com/2018/03/25/visual-studio-code-multi-line-and-multi-cursor-editing/). If it isn't in TWS now, and TWS is based on Visual Studio is it possible to enable it some way?

        Cheers

        Alan

          Hi, Alan.

          Thank you for your question.

          You could use the "Alt+Shift+Arrow Keys" combination for multi-cursor editing.

          If you have any other questions or suggestions - please let us know. We will be happy to hear them and assist.

          Regards, Ihor.

            Hi Ihor,

            Thanks for thaht. That is useful fro editing in a column, but it doesn't quite achieve what you can do in VS Code, VS or Sumblime i.e. add cursors to various parts of the editor window that are not next to each other.

            Whilst looking around, I did see this : https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=MadsKristensen.MultiEditMode#overview

            Do you think it would be possible to install that in TWS using this https://welkinsuite.com/blog/visual-studio-extensions-salesforce-development/ ?

            I assume that this extension https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=JustinClareburtMSFT.SublimeVS woudl not be valid since it is 2017?

            Cheers

            Alan

               I agree with Alan, the ability to place the cursor in different parts of the screen is so useful! Very interested to hear if the plugin woud work.

                Hi guys,

                Thank you for your posts and for sharing your suggestions.

                At last, we got success in installing the 'Multi Edit Mode' extension in The Welkin Suite IDE.

                You can follow the steps which we described in the blog post, however, now there is no necessity to make any changes in the config file - please just do the following:

                1. please re-install the IDE - this is necessary if you have edited the config file as we describe in the update in the blog post;
                2. download the extension, rename it to the '*.zip' and unzip the archive;
                3. please move the unzipped folder to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\The Welkin Suite\The Welkin Suite\Extensions';
                4. launch the IDE.

                I'll be happy to hear if this work for you.

                This way multi-line editing is available in the IDE.

                As for the 'SublimeVS' extension, unfortunately, we have no luck with it, since it is available for Visual Studio 2017.

                Thank you,

                Kate
