This is more just a question than a feature request.

Does Welkin Suite currently support Windows 10? If it doesn't, are there plans to support it?

      Hi Tyler,

We've not finished final testing for Windows 10 yet, however most of our TWS devs as well as our Salesforce devs are wokring on Windows 10 and are not experiencing any troubles.

The only thing we've had some times reported by the user - issues with the installation. However we think that we've fixed the issue and everything should be fine.

      Thanks,

      Vladimir

Can you please pass along the installation fix?

I am trying to install version Beta 0.24.5.4 of the Welkin Suite on Windows 10 and getting the following error.

Here is a snapshot of the error: https://imaginecrm.tinytake.com/sf/Mzg1NDgxXzIxNjI2NTA

        The error text is:

The Welkin Suite failed to install prerequisites. Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Shell (Isolated) Installation is blocked (errorcode -2147205120). Please check you have enough free space on your system drive and there are no other running installations and then try again. Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 Shell (Isolated) requires up to 1.3 GB on your system drive to install.

What should be my next steps to fix this? I have tried restarting my machine and reinstalling and space is not an issue I have over 500GB free on the drive I am installing the application.

          Hi.

          Thank you for your report.

May I please clarify with you, if the installation was blocked again with the same errorcode (-2147205120) after you rebooted your machine?

If it is possible, could you please send us  your *isoshell*.txt log files? You can find them in the %temp% folder and it’s subfolders, we need all of the files which include “isoshell†in the name so there will be several files. You can send them in an archive by email to info@welkinsuite.com or attach here. From this we will find all the necessary information about the reason for this issue.

          We appreciate your help.

          Thank you,

          Kate

I don't know if this is good news or not. But I was able to get the most recent version of the suite installed successfully.

The only difference between the prior installations and this one was that I elected not to install the KDiff software during installation. Not sure that would have any impact on the problems I experienced prior.

I had tried previously installing and uninstalling the software and rebooting all to no avail. So I am not sure if not choosing the KDiff option was the differentiating factor or the new version or if some Windows 10 update between the 20th and today has resolved the issue.

I will try again later tonight on my desktop also Windows 10 also unable to install the application and see if it works for me or if I can get the error so I have something to report.

              Hi,

Thank you a lot for sharing this information with us.

We are glad to hear that the installation of the newest version of TWS was successful for you.

Although the KDiff installation shouldn’t affect this process for the IDE. We believe that there are other changes that are having an influence on the case.

We are looking forward the results of your second installation. If something goes wrong again, may I please ask you to send us the previously mentioned *isoshell*.txt  files and also it would be very nice if you would send us the ‘TWS_Installation.log’ which is located in the same place.

              Thank you,

              Kate
