I've created a Project earlier but later on I decided to pull couple of Static Resources in the project so I edited project metadata components and selected those resources, but nothing happened. It showed Saving changes and then window was closed but I don't see those Static Resources in my project Explorer window.

Can anyone guide me how I can fetch those resources without the need to recreate project and select project components at that time?

      Hi.

      Thank you for your question.

You should just Pull from Salesforce your project again. All files which were marked in the Project Metadata Components will appear in the Solution Explorer. This is actual both for Static Resources and for all other files.

If you have more questions, feel free to write us - we will be glad to answer for them and help you.

      Thank you,

      Kate

I don't think it is working as you said here. It is now happening to a Visualforce page I created from within Salesforce and I'm not finding a way to get that new VF page in the IDE suite. Even if I Pull full project OR Edit Metadata Components, I could not get the VF page into my project solution.

          Hi.

Thank you for your described case.

The only reason of such behavior that we are aware of is non latin alpha-numeric symbols in the page name. Can you please check if page's name is only latin alpha-numeric symbols?

Otherwise it should be working properly.

Usually this process looks this way:

          1) In the 'Project Metadata Components' you should find the page you need in the list and select a checkbox near it, or you can just toggle "Subscribe" button near the "Apex Pages" item and save changes.

          2) After that you should pull from Salesforce (please notice that the new page won't be listed on the first screen of the Pull Wizard)

If the page is not downloaded after this two steps - please let us know if you can find that page in the 'Project Metadata Components' window in the 'Apex Pages' subitems.

In the future if you have 'Subscribe' button toggled on in the 'Project Metadata Components' menu for particular metadata type - you will automatically get all new items of that type each time you are pulling from Salesforce.

Please let me know if this helps you.

          Thank you,

          Kate

I had repeated these steps a number of times already. I tried them again but no results so far until I found the error ... I was unable to find my page in Solution Explorer because somehow the IDE is not showing the page in Pages folder of solution Explorer, instead it shows up in Apex Classes folder. I just noticed that the VF Page and the related controller class both show up in same "Classes" folder tree of solution explorer. I wonder how would that happen?

And just to confirm, both Class and VF Pages are named in simple alphabets and no additional characters either in name or label.

              Hi.

              Thank you for your reply.

Our team didn’t faced with such case before.

Was this the first created page in your project?

Can you please inform us if this issue is reproduced with the next new created page?

If you get this issue again you can use the ‘Filter’ option in the ‘Project metadata components’ to find any item. Further, you can move a necessary item to any folder in you project in the Solution Explorer.

              Regards,

              Kate

Yes thanks moving to Pages folder seems easy, but it hasn't happened with any other page, I had created couple of new VF pages before that and they worked fine. But will repost here if I encounter the issue again. Thanks for the support :-) ...

                    i'm also experiencing this.

I created two files on salesforce - ScratchPad.apxc (apex class) and ScratchPad.vfp (VF page)

in TWS i did a pull from salesforce on my project, checked the Project metadata components and the two files are there in pages and classes sections.

i did another pull from salesforce, but the two files don't show in the Pull list and also dont download to the project.

I tried quitting and restarting TWS, and another pull, but still no files

                    regards,

                    chris

ok.. forget that last post. sorry.

it seems it takes salesforce a little while before new stuff becomes available. It just suddenly worked

I created another file just to be sure and it was a few minutes before it was available

                      regards,

                      chris
