    Hi everybody,

One thing that drives me crazy since it was introduced is that Lightning Component's Components, Controllers, Helpers, Styles etc are not treated as all other components like classes, pages etc in tearms of displaying in Welkin Suite. What I mean is if I open class and page they are diplayed at the same level like in any other IDE and I can use ctrl+tab to navigate around them. However, if I open Component (markup) or Controller or Helper they will be opened as a second level items and navigation between them is not possible with ctrl+tab. Why is it that way and is there any way I can make them all first level citizens and if it is not is there alternative way how I can navigate back and forth between helper and controller using only keyboard?

    Thank you

      Hi Tomic,

Thank you for contacting us on this question.

You can use the 'View code' option from the context menu of the necessary Lightning file in the Solution Explorer to open every file in a separate tab.

In this case, you also will be able to switch between files using the Ctrl+Tab hotkey.

I hope this is what you are looking for.

As for the current implementation for the Lightning editor, we have used our custom editor to make possible open all the files from one bundle at the same time - this is why some regular options are not available in this editor. We are considering what we can do to improve this Lightning editor and make it more convenient.

      Regards,

      Kate

However, please stay tuned on our updates in the Blog - we are going to improve the Lightning Editor in one of the further versions of the IDE.
