mac version welkinsuite

    Posted 15 Aug 2018 and edited 17 Aug 2018

I am using Welkin for the first time since early Beta. I am loving it so far and I know there are many things I can do to better my experience but also have some small items I'm hoping to resolve as well.

    1. How can I get the "Getting Started" window to stop opening each time I open a Solution?
    2. How can I open multiple Solutions at once? Seems it should be simple enough I just get lost in the clicks.
    3. Can I save my own "MetaData" list to be used by default for Solutions?

    Is there more documentation/videos on:

    1. Setting up a Layout? I may just be click happy but I seems to keep flipping my pads from docked/hidden/removed/etc repeatedly. I'm still trying to discover what works best for me but Wondering if there is just more for me to read/watch to keep things from changing alot.
      • People willing to send a screenshot of what your layouts are that work best for you?
    2. Using Logs instead of Dev Console? I find myself still using Dev Console more simply because I'm not as comfortable/haven't looked at them in Welkin yet so it seems "faster".

    Thanks in advance!

      Thank you for your post.

The 'Gettings Started' window appears automatically for users who have a Trial license. After this, it won't appear and you get access to this window from the menu Help.

As for the multiple projects in a frame of one solution, this is available in the Windows version of the IDE, and we are going to add this ability into one of the next version of TWS for Mac during the nearest months.

Regarding the custom default set of Metadata Types for your TWS solutions, you can set up a working set of metadata using the 'Configure metadata working set' command from the menu Project - please find more info here.
When saving the setting, you can apply this globally. After this, your working set will be applied to all your existing and new projects and you can use the 'Pull working set from Salesforce' to work on the necessary metadata types.

As for additional documentation or video, you can find all of this in our TWS Docs or on the TWS Youtube channel:

      Hope this would help.

If you would have any additional questions, please let me know - I'll be happy to answer them.
